Bonnie's personal struggle with painful sex impacted all aspects of her life, from relationships to career aspirations. Determined to find answers, she discovered she was not alone. With the correct diagnosis of vulvar vestibulitis and vaginismus, her transformative journey began. Through surgery and a year of sex therapy with dilators, she regained control of her life.
Fueled by the lack of media representation and open dialogue, Bonnie's powerful blog post struck a chord with countless women facing similar challenges. This outpouring of support inspired the creation of Lady Parts, a film that fearlessly addresses the unspoken.
Lady Parts Director Nancy Boyd, who also relates to Bonnie's story through her own vaginismus diagnosis, ensured every aspect of production was geared towards telling authentic and raw female stories. Nancy took immense pride in assembling a crew predominantly composed of inspiring female-identifying talents for Lady Parts.
